Monday, monday.
Happy Monday, faithful readers. I trust you had a good Mother’s Day weekend. I cooked a brunch for my Mom yesterday and it was excellent – if I can sound egotistical for a moment. Tops my sister’s flowers! Then Sperm headed over to Shrek’s so I had the better part of the day to chill out. I wanted to run but the wind was really bad so I stayed in.
Survivor came to a close last night with the surprise of Pavarti winning. Missus and I were convenienced that Amanda had it sewn up but no, the jury voted 5-3 for Pav. I guess she deserves it. If I endured 39 days in rain and sun with nothing but salt water, seafood, and a coconut, I’d want the payoff too. I read this morning she graduated from UGA and went to Sprayberry High School. Wow. It’s a small world.
I saw in the news that there was an earthquake in China killing 9,000. Man. Again, I say here I am bitching about $4 gallon gas and here are these people with literally nothing. Persepctive, people. It is all about perspective.
Did I mention the Missus gift last week? She got me the box set for Space:1999 and I spent a good part of the weekend watching it. (Read more about the show here.) The hair. The polyester. Genius. I give Sperm credit. He lasted 20 minutes of one episode with me. His departing comment: “Look at those man boobs.” Generational changes I guess. I mean c’mon…it was 1974 for goodness sake. Plus the theme song kicks ass.
I ran Friday following a new route that takes me 6.3 miles (as measured by Google Earth). It took me a little over 80 minutes to run/walk the course. I was very pleased with that accomplishment. Now, I wish i could run again but it may be Friday (!!!!) before I can do so fue to commitments across the week. Maybe tomorrow — Missus will understand if I am a bit late.
